How to make your dreams come true?

Passion Piece Following your dreams

In one of my previous posts, I tried to draw your attention to those aspects, which may have a negative influence on your attitude towards making your dreams come true. Are you ready for changing your life? Do you want to become the one who is respected by others? Do you want to be an inspiration for others? Maybe you just want to like yourself and stop complaining about the shabbiness of your cruel fate? Maybe you want to finally stop thinking about your exaggerated weak points? If yes … congrats … you’ve just reached the right level of self-awareness, which is necessary to read this post! Attention! Fasten your seat-belts … as in this short entry, I’d like to focus on a few aspects, which may help you seek your dreams and reach previously set goals.

1.Go out of your comfort zone.

As I’ve already mentioned, our background has an invaluable impact on our attitude towards fulfilling our dreams. If you feel that the place, which you live in, doesn’t encourage your self-development or inhibit you in any way … you should change it! Does it mean leaving your family and friends in the chase of your ambitions? Not necessarily! If there’s nothing left of your plans and ambitions, it’s good to have some backup or in other words so called plan B. Your family support may be invaluable, especially in difficult situations, which you can’t really avoid. So what and how should you change? I don’t really mean that you have to necessarily change the place of living, as sometimes it may be rather impossible due to a number of reasons. Attention! Don’t storm the places which aren’t really suitable for you! Stay in the place you feel best! Think what you could change at little cost. Maybe it would be worth trying out something new? Maybe you should go out and meet some new people to get to know their views of the world? For sure going out of your comfort zone isn’t always worth your efforts, however many times it may turn out to be a very useful experience. Think what you’re interested in, maybe you could find people with similar views on certain matters and with similar passions? Maybe together you could do something big? Without taking controlled risks, you will never get to know what you’re capable of, and what enormous potential you have. Let’s do it … there’s not time to lose!

2.Reinforce your self-esteem.

If you’ve got any problems with your self-esteem, try to find the way to like yourself. It’s the first step to success! Take care of yourself! I find it very useful! Take up some exercises! It’s a reliable way to improve your mood, especially if it’s not a boring compulsory PE lesson! It will certainly make you more vigorous, healthier, and what’s more important, you’ll lose some extra weight without any bigger effort. Check your wardrobe and throw away all the clothes which make you look unremarkable. Find your own style which suits your personality best. Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. If people don’t accept you as you are, they’re not worth your friendship. Of course, some opinions of your close ones’ may hit the mark, so you shouldn’t reject everything what at the beginning sounds only as a jealous babble to you. Get some perspective on yourself and on others’ comments, it will help you draw the right conclusions. Take care of your make-up and haircut. Remember, do it always for yourself first and then for others. Look in the mirror and repeat these words ‘I’m a nice and valuable person. I can gain everything!’. I don’t really want to say that we should create a nation of self-important narcissists … no! However, if you want others to see you as a valuable and go-getting individual, you should first perceive yourself as such. You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover … that’s true! However, you can’t deny that fine feathers make fine birds. You only get once chance to make a first impression! Along with the increase of your self-esteem, you’ll see hundreds of new opportunities ahead. You’ll finally start thinking of making your secret dreams come true … the ones you’ve already left on the heaps of your lost hopes.

3.Work on your personality.

Our personality is influenced by numerous factors, many of them are absolutely beyond our control. We react to some impulses totally unconsciously. Try to work on those aspects of your true self, which can be partially changed. If you’re shy, don’t close yourself at home, go out and little by little reinforce your self-esteem and self-confidence. Don’t let your imperfections make you lose your dreams! Find your weak points and step by step get rid of them. Don’t be ashamed of your weaknesses, no one is perfect. The faster you realize that, the faster you’ll get the right perspective on the possibilities laying ahead you. Remember the worst you could do, would be building your fake image for years! It’s enough you’ll face some bigger problems, and everything you’ve been working on for years, may collapse just like a house of cards! Work on yourself and you shall receive!

4.Don’t bite more than you can chew.

As you already know, placing too high demands on yourself can have a negative impact on your self-esteem and the correct assessment of your potential. That’s why, you should be careful, make a list of your strong and weak points and the things you’re truly interested in. Check out the fields in which you have possibly a greater chance to gain success. As your experience and self-esteem grow with time, you’ll be able to gain other goals placed on your bucket list. Not always too much means for the best! Don’t overfill your plate, as at the end of the day you may be left with nothing.

5.Consistence as the key to success.

A short-lived enthusiasm brings no good, on the contrary, it makes us weak and inconsistent in the eyes of others. That’s why, whenever you set your goals you should always try to achieve them. You’ll probably fail many times, but it’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness! Even if you fail a few times, you won’t have a reason to accuse yourself of passivity. Try to grab every chance offered by your life! Maybe your passion will be the key to success? Don’t put yourself at a disadvantage from the very beginning! You never know what’s coming for you!

6.The power of positive thinking.

It’s sure, that many of you quite often face moments of negative thinking. ‘I’m hopeless! I can’t do anything well! I’m good for nothing! Nothing exciting will ever happen in my life!’. I could enumerate thousands of such dark thoughts, but I think it’s unnecessary! Remember your attitude towards yourself and your life has an enormous influence on reality. Sometimes you push yourself in the corner in situations, which could never exist if you changed your attitude towards certain matters. Think positive! Remember actions speak louder than words! Don’t allow others to deprive you of the light which exists in everyone!

It’s worth remembering that pursuing your goals and dreams requires consistency and your hard work on yourself, as well as your attitude towards yourself. I hope that my suggestions will occur helpful in dealing with some of your problems, and will help you reach the pinnacle of your potential.

See you around!

Yours,

Passion Piece

Oh, I know something about low self-esteem as I've been struggling with that problem since I can remember. It's difficult to change our way of perceiving ourselves, but it's worth trying for sure! :)

I think routine and goal setting is SO important, and having a consistent plan can be so helpful. This is some good, real, down to earth advice. "Don’t bite more than you can chew" - rings too true for me. I often have a hard time saying no and carving out more personal time to work on internal upgrades. I'm going to be better about it this year!

    • Natalia March 6, 2018 Reply

I usually prefer doing fewer things at once, as I love doing things well ... when the amount of duties increases, I get a little bit lost and I don't feel well when not everything is done well. :)
