What is a book for you? To me it’s one of the passions, which has accompanied me since the earliest years of my life and the only one, which allows me to enter a completely different world … a realm, which is normally impenetrable for average people … a place, in which I can step in the heroes’ lives without violating their personal space. I think that every bookworm will agree with me that reading books develops our imagination and broadens our minds. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when you have to rack your brain to solve an intricate mystery or just to picture a fabulous world which doesn’t really exist? There’s nothing better than the smell of a new book and turning pages while waiting breathlessly for the next twist in the plot. Why is it worth reading books to kids from the earliest years of their childhood? I think you can easily answer this question on your own! Reading books to younger and older kids has an enormous influence on the development of their imagination. It’s a great exercise for their brains and it enriches their vocabulary. It has also a beneficial impact on their ability to create correct and interesting spoken performances. Attention! It’s not another teacher’s talk! Don’t allow your kids to become intellectually impaired in the future! Of course, there are many different sources thanks to which you can gain knowledge … but don’t resign from books for good!
Now you start wondering why I serve you here a pure scholastic causerie … well … it’s just a good introduction to make you find today’s centerpiece of this entry! In this post I’d like to refer to a quotation of one of my favourite authors Nicholas Sparks, whose books fill the shelves of my modest room … here it is:
“The saddest people I’ve ever met in life are the ones who don’t care deeply about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there’s nothing to make it last.”
― Nicholas Sparks, Dear John
The lesson you should learn today from this quotation is easy! Find your own interests, which will fill your free time, which will make your life more colourful and meaningful! So many of you have no idea where the source of your inner dissatisfaction, lack of achievement and disappointment comes from! The frequent reason of such a state of affairs is lack of clear goals which you could pursue. Everything around you seems to be dull and temporary. Your success doesn’t make you as happy as you would expect. As I’ve already mentioned in the previous post related to celebrities, only our hard work and involvement can make our success permanent and really satisfying. Be happy about little things, and the time for bigger ones will come for sure! Don’t think I’m a psychology expert … no! I can only say that finding these simple truths may have an enormous influence on your tomorrow … and what do you think?
See you around!
Yours,
Passion Piece

I've always found books to be such a massive, critical part of my life from the time I was very small. They've instilled in me a passion for both knowledge and just a deep passion for so many different subjects. I don't know what I'd do without them!
I'm also a big fan of books, it's difficult for me to imagine my life without them! :)
I couldn't agree more! I'm a teacher and see the many benefits reading has on young children from the start. Children who never have been read to lack so much for than imagination, but skills that are necessary to become a thinker and a lifelong learner. I LOVE reading, for pleasure and for learning. Passion and purpose is something I talk about and write about A LOT! That Nicholas Sparks knows what he's talking about! :)
I'm also a teacher and I noticed that kids and teenagers often replace books with video games, which is a pity! I also couldn't agree more with your comment. :)
I'm trying to remove distractions and focus on my real interests lately, too!
That's great! Life is too short not to follow our passions. :)
I agree! Reading is something that is so important to me. I feel like if I didn't read I wouldn't blog. When I read I learn so much, sometimes it's not even about what the book is saying but maybe how to describe something, or something else completely irrelevant! I love this post!
That's right. Reading helps a lot when you have your own blog. I don't think I'd find writing so much enjoyable if I hadn't read so many books in my life. :)
my dad always says to me that to him, books to me are sacred. I guess I gave off that aura- of bookworminess, which im sure i do. but to me books were always the learning away from learning, if that makes sense. It wasn't forced, it was something for me to havw and do that wasn't apart of anyone else's life unless i wanted it to be.
It was exactly the same in my case ... it's great to know that so many people can share common passions! :)
I really have to take more time to read, because when I do it really does change my life. I think it's about losing yourself in a story especially ones where I feel an emotional connection to characters. I agree too that you learn alot about the world, how people think and act through reading without even realizing it.
Awww ... beautiful words! I love getting to know different writing styles, as it's truly amazing how resourceful some authors are. I definitely lack time for reading, but I always try to read a few pages :)
This is beautiful!! I once knew a miserable man, he was surrounded by love, had a wife and kids, but was angry at the world, his life was work, home, family, work, bed... then one day he met a new guy, this guy was younger and fearless, this new guy asked the miserable man to join a band. The miserable man started playing his guitar again, he hasn't played in decades, too busy taking care of life, that some where along the way he forgot that part of his life is his own and you need passion to be happy. Once he found his lost passion, thanks to the new guy, the miserable man was no longer the miserable man, he had changed into a more successful, more fulfilled, less stressed, man. It's amazing what a little passion can do!
What a beautiful and inspiring story! There's hope for everyone, we just need to pay more attention to our needs. :) As you said sometimes we just don't have time to follow our passions and we forget about them over some time. I love your comment! <3
I love that Nicholas Sparks quote, and I love reading books too, though I tend towards non-fiction ones. :) I agree that if you are passionate and care about someone or something, that will create drive and motivation to live a full life! One of my passions is serving God through serving others. I also love books, though. :)
No matter what kind of passion we have ... it always makes us happier and it influences people around us too ... it's like a snowball effect. Serving God through serving others sounds like a great passion to me! :)
The weird thing is I'm a Pisces so I care deeply about everything. But I've also lived life, so over the years I've figured out how to care deeply about nothing. So I care deeply about everything and nothing and it's crazy, lol. But I will say that I totally love the smell of a good book. Building my library collection!
I perfectly understand you! :) My library collection also keeps growing. Thank you for you comment! :)
Love Love LOVE to read! The smell of a good book is the best! Thanks!
It seems we share the same love ... but what's best about the love for books is that no one needs to be jealous! ;)
For me, books are an escape. You get to leave your life for just a little while and step into someone else’s life.
For me it's also a kind of escape ... I can forget about everything while reading a good book. :)
