Winter is a time when the air is filled with the gingerbread scent and all that in tact of the cheerful melodies. I truly believe that there would be no Christmas without this delicious cake… or at least it wouldn’t be that pleasant! As I’ve already mentioned before, I’m neither talented nor passionate when it comes to cooking, but from time to time, even I like my home to be filled with the beautiful aroma which enables me to give my dear ones joy. A slow cooker is a cooking appliance created just for me and for all of you who’d love to find a reliable way to prepare delicious dishes and baking without an additional effort and time-consuming work. Today, I’d like to present you a recipe for slow cooker gingerbread cake which I had the opportunity to try out a few weeks ago and I must admit that the effects were way better than I had expected.
Ingredients:
- 150 g of butter
- 300 g of honey
- 150 g of cane sugar
- 250 ml of dark beer
- 2 teaspoons of gingerbread spices (I added the whole packet and I regretted not having the second one)
- 300 g of wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 300 ml of natural yogurt
- 2 eggs
- icing sugar

Preparation:
Prepare a pan, place some butter, honey and dark beer in it. Cook everything on a low heat until the moment when the butter is completely melted. Next take the pan off the burner, add cane sugar and mix everything carefully. Leave the mixture for 10 minutes until it cools down a little bit. Add baking soda, flour and gingerbread spices, remember to mix all the ingredients well. Use some butter to grease the slow cooker dish. Pour the dough into the dish, make its top smooth with a spoon. Cover the slow cooker dish with a piece of aluminum foil and then with a lid. This cake should be baked for two hours with the use of high mode. The ready prepared gingerbread cake should be left in the dish until it cools down well. When it’s no longer hot, you can place it on a plate and sprinkle the cake with some icing sugar for decoration. Bon Appetit!

See you around!
