Little Miss (In)dependent: a photo shoot with wings

Passion Piece - zosia nie samosia cover

Almost every woman experiences ups and downs in her life, which undoubtedly shape her as a person. It depends only on her how she benefits from these experiences and who she ultimately becomes. Being a teenager I used to think that other people were totally useless in my life, as I could do everything on my own. I was often filled with anger, most possibly caused by loneliness and being misunderstood by the people who surrounded me at that time. Fortunately, I started evolving, just like an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. That’s true that there’s still lots of work on my way. I’ll surely experience some moments of doubt and I’ll probably lose faith in myself more than once during the whole process, but I know that sooner or later I shall achieve my purpose which is a beautiful and fulfilled life. This self-development, breaking through successive growth barriers and fighting demons of the past is a tedious, long-term process whose end I cannot see yet. One should remember that we don’t need to deal with everything on our own, as it was in my case. It’s worth searching for people with big hearts, who will not only help us to get out of difficult situations, provide us with support or consolation, but also the ones who will make us look at certain issues from a different angle, which will change our lives for the better and will also allow us to give hope to others.

I was truly lucky to reunion with Anna Nazarewicz-Chechelska, who is the founder of an informal initiative group called ‘ZosiaNieSamosia‘ (Little Miss (In)dependent) – gathering people who desire to do something good for others, the ones who are in need at a given moment. The idea of setting up this group was born in Anna’s head a while ago and her inspiration was her late mama Zofia, who always dealt with everything on her own, and it needs to be emphasized that she did it very well. All this despite a difficult life situation and being responsible for raising five daughters. Since mom planted the first seeds of love, goodness and compassion for others in her children, being an independent and grown-up woman Anna-Little Miss (In)dependent decided to plant more such seeds in the people, who just like her strive for a fulfilled life not only for themselves, but also for others. However, most importantly, to pay tribute to her late Mother – Little Miss Independent to raise awareness of women and to prove that they don’t have to cope with everything on their own. They can receive the necessary support from people they encounter in their lives.

The earlier mentioned informal initiative group ‘ZosiaNieSamosia’ (Little Miss (In)dependent) unites women with big hearts and open minds who want to help people in need, as well as to show that we can lead more beautiful and meaningful lives. The group initiates charity events and social campaigns. What’s more, it is also willing to cooperate with other institutions and associations. ‘ZosiaNieSamosia’ assumes that no one can gain as much on one’s own as one can gain in a group, together we’re capable of doing greater things!

Last Sunday we decided to set the ball rolling and to create some promotional material in order to tout what we generally deal with, as well as to spread the ideas which are our main source of motivation: ‘I support, I don’t judge.’ and ‘We give strength to women.‘ It’s also our answer to the current situation encountered in the streets of many Polish cities, ‘ZosiaNieSamosia’ (Little Miss (In)dependent) decided not to stay passive and not to sit on the sidelines, just on the contrary, the group reacted in its own particular way. Not with hatred, agression also the verbal one, but with goodness, love and solidarity with other women. That’s why, we organized an event/ social campaign titled ‘We give wings to women! We give strength to women!’. Since we’ve always believed in an enormous power of angels, we decided to make their wings the main theme of our initiative.

‘ZosiaNieSamosia’ (Little Miss (In)dependent) is a friend of all women, who just like a silent Angel lifts them when their wings forget how to fly! Together, shoulder to shoulder with other women we will fly! Up, up to the sky! To the stars! To have a choice, not an order!

Since the angels have always been present in Anna’s life, her group is also compared to the Angels. The photo shoot emphasizes the fact that despite being different in terms of style, character and the way we look at the surrounding us world, each of us wants to work in a community and change the reality for the better. Below you can see the first outcomes of our work. If you feel like joining us, you’re more than welcome to contact us! Maybe you’d like to become a part of our group?
