With passion in your kitchen, banana drop scones by Ewa Wachowicz

Passion Piece Drop Scones

What to prepare for lunch on one of those hot days in June? If you don’t have much time for cooking or you lack skills in this area – you should definitely check out this recipe for totally delicious banana drop scones. Attention … if you’re a Master Chef, you will also do well! I’ve always loved this kind of simple dishes from pancakes to the earlier mentioned drop scones, as I’ve invariably associated them with carefree years of my childhood and yummy meals served by my mum. Even though I’ve always devoured them eagerly, my outlook on the drop scones completely changed after trying out one of the recipes proposed by Ewa Wachowicz. This made me write this short article, which is dedicated to all connoisseurs of innocent sweets … let’s roll!

Ingredients:

2 eggs

3 tablespoons of sugar

1/2 l of kefir

2 glasses of flour (a typical size of a glass in Poland is about 200 ml)

1/2 teaspoon of soda

3-4 bananas

oil for frying

Decoration:

icing sugar

Time of preparation:

around 30 min

Portions:

For 4 people

Preparation:

Mix the eggs with sugar in the bowl.

Next pour kefir and start slowly adding flour and soda. Stir until you get homogeneous pastry. To such a prepared pastry you can add sliced bananas. If you prefer, you can wait with adding the fruit until you start frying drop scones.

Pour the pastry on well-heated oil with a ladle.

After frying drop scones put them on paper towels, so that they lose unnecessary oil. Sprinkle drop scones with icing sugar.

You can serve banana drop scones with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or apple sauce, however you can also have it with anything you want to. Bon appetit!

See you around!

Yours,

Passion Piece

    • Natalia June 18, 2018 Reply

Kefir is a beverage of fermented cow's milk. I think you could buy it in Polish or Russian stores. You can risk making it with milk, but I can't guarantee you the results. :)
