The upcoming end of the year always makes us rethink and analyze our yearlong actions and achievements. It often occurs that the list of pluses and minuses is far from our ideals and expectations. What should you do if you don’t want the next year to be a failure? It’s good to plan your actions and systematically aim at achieving previously set goals. How can you do that? Make a list of New Year’s resolutions! You probably think that it makes no sense, it won’t work out again … I’ve already tried it multiple times and my enthusiasm faded away as fast as the fireworks in the New Year’s sky … unfortunately, it’s also true. However, you should always remember that he who doesn’t risk never gets to drink champagne. You have nothing to lose, but you can gain a lot! The following tips will help you succeed in anything you desire!
1.Think over your needs and interests.
You often don’t have time to think about matters which are the most important for you. You should always keep in mind that your needs change at different moments of your life. Take a piece of paper and try to note down a few things which are truly important for you. Focus on the aspects which will allow you to develop as a person in the future. You should also think about your interests which will enrich you as an individual. They will enable you to succeed in different fields of your life, which you’ve never been thinking about before.
2.Set yourself realistic goals.
You probably keep thinking how come that your New Year’s resolutions usually don’t come true … where’s the rub? You should always set realistic goals which you can gain slowly in small steps. It will make you feel a valuable person who can achieve everything he/she thirsts for. The possibility of failure will be smaller, because your actions will be rational and well thought over. You’ll also stop focusing on the matters, which don’t really play a vital role in your life, and which certainly keep you far away from gaining really big things. Everyone can make mistakes. However, wins only the one who can correctly analyze his/her failures. Always try to draw the right conclusions from your mistakes.
5.Remember about your resolutions.
Have you got any problems with being systematic? Do you forget about your unreasonable plans quickly? Are you on a short fuse? Or shortly speaking you haven’t got the guts? 8.Plan your actions well.
Another good idea is to schedule your actions and plan them well. Every year is the same long and you don’t have to start ten new things at once. Focusing on too many goals can easily discourage you, and in consequence, you’ll leave them for good. Try to make your action plan clear and well-placed in time. During the year your plan can always be modified, but try to remember about your original goals.
9.Assess your achievements.
Try to make a monthly assessment of your achievements … check out what you’ve managed to gain, and what you need to leave for later. Being aware of the progress you’ve made will boost your confidence. You’ll also know how much work will still have had to be done before the next year starts.
Patience is one of the qualities typical for people who reach their goals, and constantly develop themselves. To accomplish some things you need some time. Your impatience won’t speed things up, on the contrary, it can make your goals get away from you.
